What is the most mentioned book on earth?
The word book started off as a learning tool. The first book I can remember reading is Peter and Jane. This is a very good series of books. Those were the days when we only had books to learn from, no computer, no iPad, and no smart phone. The only device that is anything close to the electronic devices we have today would be the television. Even that has been enhanced a lot.
The first books that our parents read to us are probably bedtime stories or fairy tales. They are usually beautiful stories of great imaginative minds talking about a prince and a princess. These stories seem beautiful at the beginning but if you really think about the storyline, it is probably the one biggest obstacle to the female gender. We have been instilled since the early ages that male are more superior over female. This is not a myth. All the fairy tales have one thing in common; the princes are always the saviour, the princesses always need to be saved. Period.
Perhaps parents should start looking for other choices of fairy tales. Children should be guided toward their own personality, and not to those of others. There is a fair selection of books that motivates the female gender to become a stronger person. There are even books that impart good morale and multiracial community. Children have a direct mindset, everyone is equal. It is the adults that instill upon them to be aware of a certain race, religion, nationality, or gender. Have we forgotten we all belong to the same animal species; homo sapiens?
Homo sapiens have been given a very important gift. We have the largest brain compared to all the other animals in the animal kingdom. We are also the largest population of animals walking this earth. We are also the most widely spread species around the world. We are the only animals that can fly in the air, walk on earth, and swim under sea. We are the superior species that dominates the earth so much we deplete the resources to our own needs. We are the only species that could save or wipe out the entire animal kingdom.
Wake up. We really need to wake up. We need to feed our souls with the understanding of how the universe works. We are the creators and destroyers at the same time. We have opportunity to make things right. We only need the wisdom and the know-hows. Sometimes, with our large brain size, we tend to over think things. Many of the things in life are very simple and yet we like to dwell in our thoughts for the longest possible time. Will we ever understand? Perhaps.
There are many platforms to find the information we may need to make us better. The first we learn is from books. Now, in this era, comes the paperless form of books. The World Wide Web is a vast information library from around the world. Then, there is the introduction to e-books, and the most mentioned Facebook. These are all very convenient ways to improve ourselves but they are nothing compared to the physical form of books.
Novels usually come in paperback and encyclopedias usually come in hardcover. These two are quite typical. Another typical example would be comics that usually come in magazine form. Then there are text books, revision books, and exercise books that are only used in schools. The best category of all is self-help books. They come in many shapes and size, often filled with vibrant colours or motivational quotes. I love books of this category because they allow my imagination to run free and affirm that I am special. Everybody needs to know the beauty of books from this category.
However, there are always people who resist reading books. They are always giving the excuses that books are boring. Perhaps they need a little brain train. I know of many who have very short attention and they are usually the ones that do not like reading books. They have not met with their right mentor. A book can be way more interesting than the internet. Imagine a world with no electricity and internet. What would you do?
Whenever you read a good book, somewhere in the world a door opens to allow in more light.
