Surrender

Why do people give up easily?

Humans, in general, love to start things, and just as easily, they give up. They always have the reasons why they do not do what they do anymore. They always have the reasons why they stop doing what they love. They always have the reasons, lame reasons, not to continue. It all comes down to just three (3) simple explanation.

When they start anything, they are under the false impression that success is just around the corner. Yes, success is just around the corner, but have you given your best at it to uncover success?

You set high expectations of yourself. You have great ideas. You have made it happen. You thought you have given your best. You expect other people to agree with you because you have come up with this system that helps people get out of their misery. You expect other people to accept your philosophy and change their mindset to align with yours. You expect that with all the sleepless nights you have gone through to make this happen, other people will appreciate. You expect that by believing the things you are doing will bring good to others, they will follow you.

You are wrong. You are totally wrong. Expectation is the worst enemy of determination.

You can dream big. But you always have to start small. There is no need to be perfect in everything. There is no way you can be perfect in everything. Nobody can. We are all imperfect individuals who just think we are perfect. You are not perfect. I am not perfect. We are just unique the way we are. Just be yourself. Be consistent in what you do. Align yourself with the right mindset and the right people.

When you fail at something you so passionately created. When nobody bothers with your perfect creation. You start to doubt yourself.

Am I doing the right thing?
Am I on the right path?
Am I good enough?

Self-doubt is the worst enemy of motivation. When you first start your journey toward your passion, you are all motivated. You find all means and ways to get the tools you need to make things happen. That is a good start. You have taken your first steps. What you lack is the confidence to continue to pursue on your journey to success. After a week, after a month, after a year, your efforts do not show any results, you think you are not good enough, you think that there is something wrong with you or the things that you do. You give up.

Perhaps then, you are not passionate enough about the thing you are chasing after. Because if you are, you will find a way around it. Rather than just sit and think and crack your head over it with such low self-esteem, you can always browse around to see what others are doing. Find out what others are doing that you are not? Model upon them. There is always a way out.

While browsing, you see all the success of other people. You look up upon them but you lack the confidence to move forward. Or you are just too distracted and immersed into other people’s success, and you think “Perhaps I am not meant for this …” You sway from your initial intention.

On the other hand, you look around and you see the comfort of your own home. You were once the gem in your entire family. You were once greatly accepted by everyone. What have you done to deserve this isolation? You have followed your dreams but your family thinks you are crazy and they try to pull you back. This is a normal situation everyone faces.

Most of the time, people are just not daring enough to step out of their comfort zone. When they see someone in their vicinity straying off from their comfort zone, they will try to pull them back. This has happened to me an awful lot of times. This has pulled me back further from my dreams. This happens to everyone, and you are not spared. It does not matter what distractions you face, it only matters how you face it. Distractions is the worst enemy of success.

Successful people only surrender to their dreams. Stay true to yourself as nothing else matters.

Surrender to what is. Let go of what was. Have faith in what will be.
